Anxiety

Ever since we returned from COTW Jonathan has had a very hard time going to sleep without his mommy. You see, Grady and Jonathan slept with Mommy for a whole week. Never did I see this as being a problem...but it has been. Every day, about every 5 minutes, Jonathan starts asking if it's time for him to go to bed. He then starts crying and telling me he's not tired and doesn't need a nap or to go to bed. I realize this is a good opportunity to teach him that God is always with us and that we can take our fears before Him, asking Him for help. But honestly, by the end of the day, and hearing constant whining about it, I grow impatient. This is how our conversation just went before naptime:
J: Mommy, I not tired. I don't want to go to bed.
Me: Jonathan, it's time for bed. You don't need to be afraid b/c God is always with us. Let's pray and ask Him for help.
J: Dear Jesus, fank you for sweeping wif me. But Mommy, I can't see God. Mommy, I want you to sweep wif me and God.
I start singing Judy Rogers..."God is a Spirit, just think of the wind, He doesn't have a body like men..."
Hugs and kisses, then more crying. I've never seen him have such anxiety about sleeping, but I'm praying for wisdom and patience through it. Seems to be what I need most in my life...wisdom and patience.

Camp of the Woods...

is a Christain camp, in Speculator, NY, focused on feeding the whole family spiritually while providing many indoor/outdoor/ sporting activities. Our outstanding speakers this year were Ravi Zacharias and John Njoroge. Their focus was on the importance of apologetics in our faith, being able to defend/stand on our faith and be a witness in a world which tries to replace themselves and others in Jesus' place.

My generous in-laws wanted us to experience this wonderful place and paid for our flight, food and board. Jon grew up going there but this was our first time going as a family. It was hard traveling that far with small children, but their excitement made it all worth it.

The boys' highlight were the 3 campfires, but they also loved the miniature golfing, the daily Bible lessons, the lake/"beach" and gameroom. Jon enjoyed playing in a volleyball and basketball tournament and running in the beautiful weather...it was springlike. I loved not having to cook/clean up for a week and being fed spiritually every day while my children were being cared for, so that I could really focus.
