I love that Michael enjoys singing joyful songs to the Lord and that Jonathan attempts to sing some of the words too. Two of Michael's favorites songs are "Thank you, Lord" and "I Don't Pout". I find this a bit amusing because he totally needs salvation, yet it warms my heart to hear him sing these sweet words. It even reminds me to pray for his soul. "Thank you, Lord for saving my soul. Thank you, Lord for making me whole. Thank you, Lord for giving to me, Thy great salvation so full and free." At almost three, Michael is struggling with whining and throwing fits. But everytime we're traveling in the car he requests the pout song: "I don't pucker up. I don't pout. You won't see my lower lip sticking out. I've got no time to fuss or cry. I'm so happy and here's why: This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it..." I find it a bit ironic that he loves this song and even that he'll start vigorously complaining if I don't play it repeatedly.
We've reached a milestone! Jonathan just took his first step on February 3 and took two steps on the 4th. I am so ready for this child to start walking because he is such a beast to carry around. He's 28 pounds, off the charts in height and killing my back and knees. He has quite the personality and is attempting to say more things like: duck, quack, meow, Ga ga (for Michael), whoa, down, all done. I joke with Jon that he's going to be a preacher because he likes to seriously babble on and on with his arms raised in the air. Of course introvert Michael quickly tells him, "No, Jonathan! Don't say anything!" "Michael, you must talk kindly to your brother." "Jonathan, will you please not say anything." I then have to tell him that we love for our brother to talk. For whatever reason this is a daily conversation in our home.

It's hard for a firstborn to share the stage! Peter used to ALWAYS answer questions for Kate- now she does that to Maddie!
It's so sweet when they sing!
Awe, I just want to play with you and your boys! Thanks for giving us an update!
Oh my gosh...your little Michael sounds hilarious! "will you please stop talking!" So funny Hannah! And Jonathon took his first step on your b-day! What a great gift!
